Job Title: Printing Specialist

Department: Printing & Packaging

Reports to: Production Manager


Job Summary:

OLY Printing & Packaging is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Printing Specialist to join our Printing and Packaging Department. The Printing Specialist will oversee the entire printing process, from prepress preparation to the final production of high-quality printed materials. This role requires expertise in various printing techniques, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage projects efficiently to meet client expectations.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Printing Process Management: Supervise and execute printing jobs using offset, digital, and large-format printing Printing & Packaging to produce materials such as business cards, brochures, posters, and packaging.
  2. Prepress Preparation: Review job orders, ensure files are print-ready, and coordinate plate-making and color calibration processes.
  3. Quality Assurance: Monitor every stage of the printing process to ensure consistent quality, accuracy, and color fidelity.
  4. Machine Operation: Operate and maintain printing machines, including offset presses, digital printers, and finishing equipment.
  5. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve printing issues such as misregistration, color discrepancies, and equipment malfunctions.
  6. Inventory Management: Track and manage the inventory of paper, ink, and other printing supplies to ensure smooth production operations.
  7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with designers, production staff, and finishing teams to align production goals with client expectations.
  8. Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and technical support to junior team members and ensure adherence to production schedules.
  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production details, including machine settings, materials used, and output specifications.
  10. Safety Compliance: Adhere to workplace safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized working environment.


Required Qualifications:

  1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in the printing industry with expertise in offset, digital, and large-format printing.
  2. Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of printing techniques, color management, and prepress software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  3. Mechanical Aptitude: Proven ability to operate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on printing equipment.
  4. Attention to Detail: Commitment to ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency in all printed materials.
  5. Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  6. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in printing or graphic arts is a plus.
  7. Teamwork & Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


Working Conditions:

  1. Work Environment: Invols direct interaction with printing equipment and materials. With potential off-site field works.
  2. Work Tools: Utilize advanced printing machines and ERP systems to track production tasks and updates.
  3. Work Hours: Full-time position with standard shifts; occasional overtime or weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.
